The Experience
Night dives in the Hengchun area are typically conducted as shore dives, with a frequently visited site being “Water Outlet” at Houbihu area.
Located on the southern side of Houbihu, the Water Outlet is a naturally sheltered site that remains calm and protected from waves throughout the year.
As the sun sets, schools of fish begin to disperse, making way for a wide variety of mollusks and crustaceans. Creatures such as cuttlefish, octopuses, and moray eels become more active. Meanwhile, the colorful parrotfish exhibit a fascinating behavior at night—they secrete a mucus cocoon, forming a large bubble-like layer around their bodies as they sleep.
Night diving offers the chance to observe many species that are rarely seen during the day, as well as witness entirely different behaviors. Many macro species, in particular, are most active during dusk and nighttime as they forage and move about.
From April to June each year—especially around the week of Mazu’s lunar birthday—this becomes one of the most popular periods for night diving. During this time, there is a high chance of witnessing the annual “snowfall of the sea”: coral spawning.

How to Use
- Voucher will be sent via email. Please show your e-voucher at designated location.
Purchase Notice
- Must certified as PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or PADI Seal Team or an equivalent certification from another recognized diving organization.
- Diver must be at least 12 years old. If you are 12-18 years old, we will need your legal guardian's signature (we will send the agreement file in email to you).
- The diver should have good physical and mental health. We don't provide diving service to pregnant woman. If you have cardiovascular, respiratory related disease or once received major surgery, please consult your doctor first for certificate of diagnosis. BENEATH has the right to refuse/cancel your diving activities. You can find more details of health assessment, please feel free to contact us if you have any concern.
Important Booking Information
- Please don't over drinking alcohol the night before dive date, it may cause you in higher risk of decompression disease.
- Do not take flight within 18 hours after diving, please be noted to plan your journey accordingly.

Notes
1. Reservation Changes:
To change the date of your diving activity or course, please do so at least 3 days before the scheduled date. Changes made within 3 days of the activity will incur a 10% administrative fee based on the deposit.
Once a date change is confirmed, you must inform us of your new preferred date and time within 7 days. Failure to do so will be considered a cancellation, and the deposit will not be refunded or applied toward rescheduling.If the e-learning materials have already been issued, the course material fee is non-refundable.
2. Weather Conditions:
In cases of typhoons, poor sea conditions, government-declared class/work suspensions, or marine warnings, you may reschedule or receive a full refund.
3. Personal Reasons:
If you experience an injury, illness, or any personal condition that prevents you from diving within 3 days of the activity, please provide a doctor’s note. Upon verification, you may reschedule for free or transfer the booking to someone else.
If the condition is serious and will prevent diving for more than one year, a full refund of the deposit will be granted.
